My first impressions of Dermalogica’s Clear Start Range…

Have you been struggling with your skin recently ? Then Dermalogica’s Clear Start range might be for you…

I’m always very conscious of changing up my skin care routine because I feel like one wrong step and suddenly I’m in a worse position that before. However, at the moment (although normally I don’t struggle with acne or bad spots), no matter how hard I try my skin is oily and I have spots. Personally, I think the heatwave going on at the moment is primarily to blame.

I’ve really had nothing to loose in terms of trying something new to get this under control – and the products that I’ve actually found that work for me are new in Dermalogica’s Clear Start* range.

Dermalogica Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask | Link | £19.50

Dermalogica’s Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask is an incredibly unusual product and one that I don’t think I’ve ever come across from another brand. It applies like a cream and as you apply to the skin begins to gently fizz. This fizzing formula is designed to effectively clean pores, get rid of blackhead and control oil. It is honestly the weirdest sensation I’ve ever experienced ! It’s like popping candy for your face.

I actually think this does the job too! It does take quite a few uses to make a lot of difference but it does unclog pores and control the oil that this summer is giving me.

Although at the moment my skin is way more oily than normal (due to the sheer heat in the U.K.), I actually have pretty dry skin – so one word of warning is to be careful where you apply the product as it can dry the skin out (so I am always very targeted with it).  I generally apply this to my nose and in the middle of my forehead and brows.

Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Booster | Link | £19.50

The Breakout clearing booster is a clear liquid product that is formulated with salicylic acid that’s designed to destroy bacteria that causes breakouts to rapidly clear the skin.

The directions for application say you can apply this all over the face under moisturiser for a barrier against breakouts or just directly for breakouts. As I don’t have awfully bad spots at the moment (just more than I’m used to), I just dab a bit onto the spot and it really seems to help.

Overall, I’m really pleased with the products that I’ve been trying out from Dermalogica’s Clear Start range and can really see that they’d be helpful for people who suffer with breakouts (particularly teens) all year round. At the moment I’m just grateful tho have something that seems to be working for me this summer!
