Lashes, Liner and Lips: A Quick Christmas Party Face

To me wintertime in my makeup regime is a place for lashes, liner and lips. I enjoy a banging smokey eye as much as the next girl but when you’re in a rush to get ready eye shadow is not a quick trick up my sleeve – it can easily look muddy and smudge everywhere on my hooded eyes if I’m not careful. I tried to use all affordable products to come up with my ideal Christmas party look, I hope you enjoy reading.

Primer – L’oreal Infallible Mattifying Base

This is just for my t-zone, to keep that area nice and matte. Don’t get me wrong dewy is good, but in the right areas.

Foundation – LA Girl PRO.Coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Foundation | Porcelain

I’ve been trying out this foundation lately since I purchased it from Beauty Bay, (there will be a full review up next week), but I’ve included it here for it’s solid coverage and ease of application – perfect for a quick look.

Concealer – LA Girl PRO.Coverage HD Concealer | Porcelain, White

I’ve been using these concealers ever since LA Girl came out with a white version (I could get away with Porcelain in the summer on it’s own but certainly not in the winter!). The coverage is medium but leaves my under-eyes glowy and highlighted. I set this with the NYX HD finishing powder as if it’s Christmas party time I want that coverage and smoothness to last.

Highlight – Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlight | Peach Lights

Anyone who knows me will tell you I adore pink toned highlights – and this one is no different ! You can pile it on and go for that intense ‘Instagram highlight’ look or a subtle glow from within.

Liner – KISS Wing it Gel Liner*

This gel liner comes in a kit that includes a stencil for six different cat-eye shapes and a brush. I don’t struggle to do different styles of winged liner but I’ve used the stencil and it is ideal for a quick look like this. However, my main reason for choosing this product is for the gel liner itself – they don’t lie when saying it’s waterproof and smudge proof. I have hooded eyes and when I’m wearing an extreme liner look most gel liners transfer (even when they claim they won’t!), the KISS gel liner on the other hand stays put for a full day of wear (and more if you forget and sleep in it…ooops).

Lashes – KISS Blooming False Lash | Daisy*

I always find KISS lashes beautifully light on the eye because of their thin lash band, but these new style of lashes also have multi-angle tips so that they look extra fluffy on the eye – perfect for a look like this that focuses so much on lashes.

Eye Shadow – Makeup Geek | Brownie Points, White lies

Now I know I said no eye shadow, so this is just a suggestion, but a quick matte, cool-toned colour in the crease to give definition never hurt anyone, nor did a brow bone highlight.

Brows – LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil | Soft Brown

This brow pencil is just the right amount waxy to creamy, but the shade shows up a little more red than I’m used to (this is a good or a bad thing to me dependent on the day). If you need to set your brows in place for the entire evening use a brow gel – personally I’m enjoying the wild look at the moment.

Lipstick & Gloss – Colourpop Lippie Stix | Lumiere & Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip | Wolfie

I’ve been loving Colourpop recently (you can see my haul and mini reviews here), so I thought I’d choose something a tad different from the usual red for the lip. With ‘Lumiere’ as a base you get a beautiful purple/gold lip with this combination.

I hope you enjoyed reading my picks…
