A Case of the Everyday Face

Just a quick one today, I’ve been wearing this makeup selection a lot – pretty much every day – so I thought I’d give a quick insight into my (rather quick) routine. I go for a natural look most of the time because I’m not massively into full coverage foundation, though I’ve been looking at getting the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation to try a fuller coverage, and I don’t really do anything drastic on a daily basis. I pretty much aim to look like me, just a  little less tired!
Foundation – L’Oreal Lumi Magique in C2
This foundation always works for me without fail, it’s glowy for my normal/dry areas and not insane on my oily areas (if you want to see a very weird map of where these areas are, you can see this in my Charlotte Tilbury foundation wear and compare). It’s quite sad that this is my summer shade yet it’s still the second lightest they do!
Concealer – Nars Radient Creamy Concealer – Vanilla
My tried and true concealer that gets me through everything. Not a massively highlighting shade on me, but ideal for a natural base whilst covering my dark purple under eye circles – I don’t colour correct these on a daily basis, because, frankly, I don’t care that much.
Powder and Highlight – Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette
I use the top left and right powders to set my under eyes and t-zone and then the middle shade as a highlight. It’s quick to have these shades all in one place and has a massive mirror for makeup on the go. I love the bronzer from this palette as well, but recently I’ve been opting out of wearing any.
Blush – Illamasqua Powder Blush – Excite
This is a very intense shade and so highly pigmented that this colour is probably more suited to deeper skin tones (but it’s stunning!), but using a light hand this colour is the same that I naturally blush, so it helps with the ‘it’s just me’ look.
Brows – NYX Micro Brow Pencil – Ash Brown, NYX Control Freak Brow Gel – Clear
I adore both of these products for making my every day brows so easy and quick. I could easily spend half an hour on my brows alone trying to get them perfect, but these products from NYX are just so simple. Also, the colour of the micro brow pencil doesn’t pull red at all, which is great!
Eyeliner and Mascara – YSL Volume Effect Faux Cils and Kat Von D – Trooper
Just a lovely black pigmented liner and my favourite mascara. It gives a false lash affect without looking clumpy and the Kat Von D liner says on my eyes even in hot weather.
Lips – Mac – Velvet Teddy
A classic ‘my lips but better’ colour on me that I don’t find drying, but that also stays relatively well. I don’t need a liner with this colour because it’s something that I can just throw on.
Setting Spray – NYX – Matte Finish
I prefer to set my face with a matte setting spray after all these dewy base products, so that some of my oil is controlled throughout the day – this NYX one does the job nicely.
Perfume – Vera Wang – Lovestruck
A beautifully floral summery scent that I love this time of year !
