Mac Lunar New Year

MAC collections seem to come around so often that I find it difficult to keep up and rarely buy anything – but I always look forward to seeing what they come up with for their New Year collection. MAC Lunar New Year (2018) is a collection that consists of a variety of peachy tones and dusty pinks. It is probably sold out in most stores and definitely online) but if you do see it anywhere – I’d recommend picking it up!

MAC Lunar New Year – Luck and Fortune Palette

I came across the collection at the airport recently and snapped up two items (a lipstick and the eye shadow palette) whilst I had the chance. I don’t have much experience with MAC shadows, as I only own a few of their singles, so I thought this was a good way to try them out.

Additionally, I don’t own the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette which has similar tones in it to the Luck and Fortune Palette, shades which I don’t really have in my colllection. Therefore, I’m very pleased to have purchased this ! The MAC 9 pan eye shadow palettes are pretty small, but I enjoy how easy this is to travel with, and due to the simple shade selection it’s fast becoming my go to work palette.

Out of every shade in this palette, I adore the camel colour ‘Spirit of the Season,’ it can create a stunning one shadow look on its own or works as a buttery transition shade.

MAC Lunar New Year – Peachy New Year Lipstick

I’m really not one for orange toned lipsticks as I find they don’t really suit my skin tone – but the packaging on this was so lovely, I couldn’t help myself. I purchased the shade ‘Peachy New Year,’ the most peach toned out of all the lip shades.

Overall, I enjoy the fact it has a satin finish, as I find this makes it more wearable than a matte and I think it’s an interesting addition to my pretty vast lipstick collection – on me this is nearing neon. If you have skin with a golden undertone, this would look fabulous on you!

I’m pleased a picked up these items from the collection – did you manage to get your hands on anything ?
